Artist statement:
My acrylic paintings feature the animal and natural world in delightful, lighthearted and often unexpected moments. Colorfully bold and graphic, these paintings capture our affection for companion animals and the wonderment of nature and wildlife.

about mE
Hi! I’m Jodie and I have been painting my colorful, happy signature dog art for 15 years, but have been in the creative field all my life as a former cartoonist and graphic designer. A love of animals, nature, vibrant color (I live in the gray Seattle area after all!) and comedy highly influences my work. I enjoy coming up with fun titles for my paintings as much as I enjoy creating them.
A few of my accomplishments include my work being recently chosen as the winner for the 2021 National Purebred Dog Day Poster by Juror, Dr. Alan Fausel, Executive Director of the AKC Museum of The Dog in New York.
In 2017, I was a featured artist and interviewed on KOMO-TV’s “Seattle Refined.”
I’ve had my work shown at Schack Art Center, Overlake Hospital, Red Bluff Art Gallery in California as well as several other art shows including Best of The Northwest in Seattle.
I enjoy meeting new collectors and talking with them about their own pets and sharing a love of animals. And yes, I absolutely I would love to see a photo of your dog! Or cat, or horse, or hamster for that matter.
Commissions keep me busy as well as my own creations.
My backyard studio is in Kirkland where I live with my husband and a fluffy, Great Pyrenees mix named Ranger. We have a college-age son currently attending college in Japan. We lost our sweet Golden Retriever mix last year. We miss her terribly as she was a constant source of inspiration.
